Terms

A draft for our pilot, in plain English. If anything here is unclear, email us and we’ll explain.
Who we are
Arno AI is run by Arno AI Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17534014), registered office Flat 3, Radcliffe Building, Portpool Lane, London EC1N 7SN. Questions about these terms: hello@arnoai.org.
Arno gives a local business a page with its menu, opening hours and allergens that people and their AI assistants can read, and takes collection orders from it, paid by card. These terms are between us and the business that signs up, and say what customers ordering from a business can expect.
For businesses
- Your account. You must own or run the business you set up, or have its owner’s permission. Keep your sign-in to yourself, and only add people to your team who work for the business. You’re responsible for what your team does in Arno.
- Your page is yours to keep right. You’re responsible for your menu, prices, opening hours and everything else on your page being accurate and lawful. When we find your details or read your menu from your website for you, it’s a starting point for you to check, not a guarantee.
- Allergens. If you sell food, you must give accurate information about the 14 allergens for every dish and keep it up to date, as UK food law requires for food sold at a distance. A dish can only be ordered once you’ve confirmed its allergens.
- Alcohol and other age-restricted items can’t be sold through Arno.
- Payments. Customers pay you through your own Stripe account, under Stripe’s terms as well as these. You’re the seller: you’re responsible for making and handing over each order you accept, for refunds, for VAT and for food safety. Stripe’s fees apply to each payment. We never see customers’ card details. We check each business before it takes payments, and switch ordering on once we have.
- Accepting orders. A customer’s card is held when they pay and only charged when you accept. If you decline or don’t answer in time, the hold is released. Please accept or decline every order promptly.
- Our fees. Arno is free during the pilot. If we introduce fees we’ll tell you at least 30 days before, and you can leave without paying anything.
- What you give us. You keep everything you add (your menu, descriptions, logo). You let us show it on your page and to people and assistants who ask about your business, for as long as you use Arno.
- Things we may do. We may hold back text that looks unsafe until we’ve checked it, and pause or remove a page that breaks these terms or the law. We’ll tell you why, unless the law stops us.
- Leaving. You can pause orders at any time from your dashboard. To take your page down or close your account, email us and we’ll do it within two working days. We can end your use of Arno with 30 days’ notice, or straight away if you seriously break these terms.
For customers
- When you order, your contract for the food or goods is with the business, not with Arno. Questions about an order go to the business first; if you can’t sort it out, email us.
- Your card is held when you pay and only charged when the business accepts your order. If they decline or don’t respond in time, the hold is released and you aren’t charged.
- Orders are for collection. Food is prepared for you, so you can’t cancel once the business has accepted, but if your order is wrong or can’t be supplied you’re entitled to a refund. Your legal rights aren’t affected.
- If you have a severe allergy, call the business before ordering.
- How we use your details is in our privacy notice.
For AI assistants
Assistants may read business pages and place orders for a real person who has asked them to. Bulk or automated ordering, reading pages far beyond reasonable use, or ordering without a person’s request isn’t allowed, and we may block it.
Our responsibility
Arno is in a pilot. We provide it as it is, will do our best to keep it running, and will tell you about problems quickly. We aren’t responsible for the food or goods businesses sell, or for losses we couldn’t reasonably have foreseen. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn’t allow us to limit.
Changes
If we change these terms we’ll update the date at the top, and email businesses at least 30 days before a change that matters to them takes effect.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts deal with any disputes. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
